Google Glass

Google Glass has potential to break out as a major tool in 2014 and fans are anxiously awaiting the nationwide -- or worldwide -- release. So far, the revolutionary glasses have made rounds but only in trial runs. Rumor has it that 2014 could be the year when Google finally puts the glasses on store shelves for customers around the world. Google has received very positive reviews thus far in the trial runs for the glasses. Last week, Google unveiled new changes and improvements for the glasses, which now blend in much better than the previous all-clear frames. The new glasses boast a black frame reminiscent of popular glasses you'll see on the street today. Furthermore, the glasses are compatible with eye prescriptions, which otherwise would have limited the amount of people who would be able to wear them. As described by Google on Google Plus, the company was not looking to build another tech gadget that was already invented. Instead, the company branched out into some unfamiliar territory with this product.

"We started Project Glass to build technology that's seamless, beautiful and empowering. To share the world through your eyes. To get answers and updates, instantly. To be there when you need it, and out of your way when you don't.

"We're inviting a small group of Explorers to help us discover the full potential of Glass. Follow us on our journey, and help us shape the future."

On the Google Glass page, there are a number of videos and photos to attract users and generate interest. Once the trial runs are complete and Google has a chance to address any issues that are presented from the users, we can likely expect a release date to be announced. According to the Los Angeles Times, this could happen before we finish the year.
